QuoteFilter is a companion to Xinvest and Xquote . You can use it to filter your emails messages and process the contents of some messages to retrieve stock quotes from them. The quote information can be stored in the files that Xinvest uses so you'll automatically use recent information. Xquote serves a similar purpose, but it retrieves stock quote information from Internet servers.
QuoteFilter configuration is based on an extension of the Xinvest configuration file format. Xinvest will not work with this new file format unless you use version 2.6.e or higher.
The new file format allows you to use templates describing the structure of an E-mail message. In the example below, there are three templates definitions. In each, the DATE line describes how the date is obtained. The format for dates is dictated by the strptime(3) function.
The MATCH line, if present, means that a template will only be used (or activated) on a message in which a line matches the expression that follows.
This is how you can make the tool figure out which template(s) are valid for this E-mail. E.g. an E-mail containing the UCB at the beginning of a line will activate the kbc-bxs template but not the two others.
